Prague

Prague/Praha is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.

It is the capital of the Czech Republic and the historical capital of Bohemia. It has been a political, musical, cultural and economic center of Europe for much of its 1,100-year existence. Prague is home to a number of famous cultural attractions, including the Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, National Theater, Old Town Square, Jewish Quarter and the Lennon Wall.

The extensive historic center of Prague is included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Prague’s rich history, vibrant culture and stunning architecture make it a popular tourist destination. It is the sixth most visited city in Europe, receiving more than 4.4 million international visitors annually.

For more than 200 years, Prague has been a leading cultural center of Europe.

Mozart spent time in Prague, enjoying success leading celebrated performances of Le Nozze di Figaro, performing in the city’s castles, churches and theaters, and premiering both his 38th Symphony “Prague” and his operas Don Giovanni and La clemenza di Tito. Beethoven was also a regular visitor and performer in Prague, and it was the home of the great Czech composers Antonin Dvorak and Bedrich Smetana. The city is home to three major opera houses, more than twenty active concert halls, and seven professional orchestras. The city is also one of Europe’s leading centers of jazz, theater, film, visual arts, architecture and literature.
