Patrick Diamond is a collaborative artist and stage director. His work includes both operas and plays. Select opera productions: the centennial revival of Wolf-Ferrari’s Le donne curiose at Wolf Trap; the devised opera, drömseminarium/ dream seminar with composer Ellen Lundquist, Nobel laureate Tomas Tranströmer, and Companion Star at Västmanlandsmusiken; Postcard from Morocco to celebrate the eightieth birthday of composer Dominick Argento; The Dido Project, an installation at Time Warner Center with Sybarite5 of the Henry Purcell opera Dido and Aeneas; and the US professional premiere of Moniuszko’s Halka at Sarasota Opera.
In addition, the premieres of A Rey Pamatmat’s plays Thunder Above, Deeps Below with 2G and A Spare Me with Waterwell@PPPS both in New York. Past productions also include multiple works by Mozart, Puccini, Janáček, Shakespeare, Britten, as well as pieces by Mayakovsky, Verdi, Calderón de la Barca, and American playwrights Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Sharon Cooper, Eric Sanders, Kathryn Walat, and Aury Wallington.
Pat is a founder of Director Collective performance lab, and produces and develops work through his company Jaleo LLC. He teaches acting at Manhattan School of Music in the Graduate Opera Studio as well as in the Composers and the Voice program at American Opera Projects. He is the director of the Yale Summer Conservatory (Directing), and former faculty at Aspen Music Festival and School and University of Maryland. He has been guest artist at University of Michigan, Rice University Shepherd School of Music, and NYU.
