Coaching apprentices will work on our fully staged productions of and Le Nozze di Figaro and Die Zauberflöte with orchestra, directed and coached by the renowned faculty of Prague Summer Nights.
Coaching apprentices will collaborate and perform on a fully staged opera scenes program, which will include scenes from important Czech operas such as Rusalka and The Bartered Bride. Students will work directly with Prague Summer Nights coaching faculty and coaches from the Czech National Theater on diction, language, performance practice and style.
The apprentice coaches will have the opportunity to perform on a cabaret performance of music from the American Songbook and Broadway, including the music of Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin, Stephen Sondheim, Irving Berlin, Kurt Weill and Cole Porter. The cabaret will take place in a famous Prague jazz club.
Chamber music opportunities are also available to coaching apprentices in collaboration with musicians from our orchestral program.
All coaching apprentices in the program will participate in lessons with the Prague Summer Nights coaching and conducting faculty. They will have plenty of opportunities to learn about career development, resume building, social media, networking and audition preparation.
Apprentice coaches will also have opportunities to perform chamber music with instrumentalists from our orchestral program.
All apprentice coaches will serve as repetiteurs, playing for voice lessons, staging rehearsals and coachings, and will be observed and mentored by our faculty coaches and conductors, who will provide feedback and direction.
All coaching apprentices will have private lessons with the Prague Summer Nights coaching and conducting faculty, as well as the opportunity to work with faculty at the Prague Conservatory. They may observe coachings for singers by our coaching faculty and will also have mentoring sessions to discuss career development including resume building, social media, networking, score and audition preparation.
