Prague Summer Nights Opera Studio

Singers will perform in fully staged performances, with orchestra, of Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Le nozze di Figaro, directed and coached by the renowned faculty of PSN.

 

Prague Summer Nights Opera Academy

In 2017, Prague Summer Nights introduced the Prague Summer Nights Opera Academy. This program is designed to offer focused and comprehensive development to young singers as they continue their journey in the opera world. In 2023, the PSN Opera Academy will, for the first time, host its own production of “The Magic Flute”. This edited, one act version of Mozart’s timeless classic offers young singers an opportunity to master and perform a role in addition to participation in the chorus for Don Giovanni and The Marriage of Figaro.

 

Orchestral Program

Orchestral musicians are invited to participate in a rigorous program of instruction and performance including major orchestral concerts, chamber music, opera orchestra performances and masterclasses.

 

Conducting Program

Assistant conductors will participate in the preparations for the productions of Mozart’s operas Don Giovanni and Le nozze di Figaro, and will conduct these works extensively in staging rehearsals with the cast and chorus. They will also rehearse and conduct portions of the opera scenes program.

 

Coaching 

Coaching apprentices will work on our fully staged productions of Don Giovanni and Le nozze di Figaro, directed and coached by the renowned faculty of PSN.

 

Stage Directing

In addition to helping stage the opera scenes program, stage directing apprentices will work as assistant directors on our fully staged productions of Don Giovanni and Le nozze di Figaro with orchestra.

 

Arts Admin

The Prague Summer Nights Young Artist Music Festival Arts Administration Program aims to provide students practical experience on the logistical and operational needs required for the successful completion of an international summer music festival.

 

Composition

Prague Summer Nights: Young Artists Music Festival composition students will spend three action-packed weeks in the Czech cities of Tábor and Prague, immersed in intensive study of composing operas, along with chamber, symphonic, and other vocal music.

 

Competitions

Prague Summer Nights offers both voice and instrumental participants the opportunity to participate in career-building competitions.
